Recipe for Grilled Shrimp
I decided to post some excellent grilling recipes before it got too cold since I am ready for fall but not quite ready for grilling season to be ended. Furthermore, this is among the greatest ways to prepare grilled shrimp, not just delicious!
Aren't we constantly searching for really simple dishes that aren't bland and uninteresting? They may be a lifesaver for me on busy weekdays, so on those days I stick to proteins with a quick marinade that's full of flavor.
That's all this shrimp is. Simply prepare the shrimp, mix a basic marinade with ingredients from your pantry, let it sit for only 30 minutes, and then cook it on skewers.
Marinade ingredients and shrimp:
- I advise using extra large or even jumbo shrimp when cooking with shrimp.
- Real maple syrup or honey should also work in this situation.
- Depending on how salty you like things, you can use standard or low-sodium soy sauce in this recipe. Considering that more sodium (saltiness) will be absorbed the longer you marinate, use low-sodium if you want to leave it for a few hours.
- Olive oil adds a touch of richness and prevents the shrimp's shell from drying out.
- Garlic is a flavorful ingredient that is especially effective when used fresh. I don't suggest using alternatives.
- If you want a hotter version, add red pepper flakes that have been crushed. Start with 1/4 tsp, taste the marinade (before adding it to the shrimp), and then add more to achieve the desired level of heat.
- Green onions or parsley (optional) should only be used if you wish to create a great color contrast for aesthetic purposes; they are purely optional if presentation is your primary goal.
Making Grilled Shrimp:
- Creating the marinade Honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic cloves, and red pepper flakes, if using, should all be thoroughly mixed in a mixing dish.
- Put shrimp in the marinade, then relax: Put shrimp in a shallow dish or a gallon-sized resealable bag. Place shrimp in the marinade, seal the bag, and let out any excess air. Put shrimp in the refrigerator, coat with marinade, and let sit for 30 to 60 minutes to marinate.
- To prevent burning, soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before using. If you haven't previously, submerge the shrimp in water while they are marinating.
- Grill preparation: Heat a grill to around 400 degrees over medium-high heat.
- Put shrimp on skewers: Place 5 to 6 shrimp on each skewer, threading them through the top and bottom of the shrimp.

The Best Grilled Shrimp Recipe:
- For a lovely char on the shrimp, use a savory marinade that also contains honey, like the one we use here.
- Before putting shrimp to the marinade, take sure to peel them so they can absorb the aromas.
- Before adding shrimp and grilling, soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
- Use frozen and thawed shrimp whenever possible. Not that from the meat or fish counter because it has already been frozen and may have been there for a few days.
- Shrimp should not be overcooked or they will become rubbery.
